On the first Friday night of every month, local businesses downtown come together and celebrate our community. These businesses include everything from art galleries and museums to restaurants, bars, and shops. They keep their doors open later while people from the surrounding area come and enjoy this fun atmosphere. There are street musicians playing and the sidewalks are always crowded with locals – the city truly comes alive!
First Friday events run yearlong from 5pm to 9pm, though many businesses stay open much later. These events are never the same! Each month offers different events and specials. Be sure to check https://visitlancastercity.com/city-events/first-friday/ to see current events scheduled for the next First Friday on October 1st.

A great place to start your evening at First Friday is Gallery Row on North Prince Street. Pop into some of the galleries and chat with local artists! Take in the sights and scenes on the quaint and charming North Prince St. If art galleries aren’t your thing, simply strolling down the block is just as much fun.

If you’re bringing the family, be sure to stop at the Lancaster Science Factory. They offer free admission from 5-7pm every first Friday – it’s a great place for kids and families to explore over 70 interactive exhibits.
