As much as we love our Lancaster, PA, it’s not the only Lancaster in the world… but there IS only ONE Lititz, PA!
Strolling through the charming streets of downtown Lititz will make you feel instantly transported into a Hallmark movie. Walk down Main Street and take in all the sites of cottages and homes lining the street, families walking their dogs and shop owners waving hi as you pass them; this is what being in a small town is all about.
There is an abundance of local boutiques to stop at, cafes to sit at, and even candy shops to graze at. We recommend Tomato Pie Café, located just off Main Street, if you are in the mood for a drink or bite to eat! They offer a variety of traditional and seasonal dishes and pastries – we have been countless times and each time is better than before.
You absolutely cannot miss a trip to Wilbur Chocolate when in Lititz. I mean, doesn’t that just prove how Hallmark-like this town is?! There is a chocolate factory!! They serve some of the most delicious chocolate candies…Wilbur buds are the best treat for you to bring home and remember your time in Lititz.
Are you a fan of pretzels? They were invented in Lititz! Sturgis Pretzels, America’s first pretzel factory, is located on Main Street and they offer tours of the bakery (and free pretzels at the end)!!
After you spend time eating and shopping, burn some calories at Lititz Springs Park. This park is ideal for a stroll any time of year. In the summer you can feed the ducks or catch a movie at the summer film series in the park. Valentine’s day brings the “Fire and Ice” sculpture festival, and 4th of July offers an amazing firework display. It really has it all!
Oh, and we didn’t even talk about Rock Lititz, the haven for famous singers and artists. We’ll save that for another post!
This quaint town is home to only 9,000 residents and is only 2 miles in size. It sure has a lot to offer for its small size! In fact, it was awarded “Coolest Small Town in America” by Budget Travel in 2013…One trip to Lititz and you will see exactly why!
