This week we want to share with you more about one of our favorite weeks of the year… Lancaster City Restaurant Week!! Every Year Lancaster City hosts the Restaurant Week bringing our community together through food, while also people from outside of Lancaster County to enjoy the fun festivities and tasty treats. This year’s Restaurant Week is April 12th through the 18th that being said things are going to look a little different this year.

The Lancaster City Restaurant Week has announced their changes on their website to ensure that participants are safe, provided options and can support their favorite food joints while also trying new ones throughout the whole week! This year the committee who puts on Restaurant Week highlighted the importance of supporting our local businesses after this year and the hard times independent restaurants across the world have been impacted by pandemic. This year restaurants, small businesses and places to enjoy the festivities are providing you with options to ensure safety and comfortability. You can dine indoors at some locations with social distancing, take in some delicious meals at outdoor dining locations or take out and enjoy it in the comfort of your home. When you go to the restaurants to check to see if they are selling merchandise or gift cards, this is a great way to continue the support and help your favorite spots. 

If this is your first Restaurant Week in Lancaster County get excited it is a week like no other! A few ideas to enjoy the festivities if you can is try to order from a restaurant each day whether you are going in person or picking up your meal to go. Consider trying a new restaurant or a few to add to your list of favorite spots! 

If it is a nice day have some fun restaurant hopping with your friends you could enjoy a meal at a different location or get appetizers and slowly work your way place to place for a day of tasty experiences, laughter, and excitement for helping the local spots. Appetizer hopping is an amusing way to not only try different dishes from multiple restaurants but keeps the excitement going while you and your friends walk from place to place. You not only enjoy the food but the experience and seeing the different atmospheres and set ups at each location.

What is great about Restaurant Week is their website. If you do not want to walk around downtown or new to the area and unsure of what restaurants to try check out their website to search participating locations, you can even search based on type of food, or meal (breakfast, lunch and dinner) this is a great way to come across spots you may have never tried or learn about locations that offer more than you thought. You can also follow along on Instagram by following #LCRW2021 and also using the hashtag as you work your way through the best foodie spots around! You can share your experiences while also seeing other patrons and what they are trying or enjoying. A great way to try eateries! 

If you are not able to physically go to Restaurant Week or do take-out don’t worry consider taking note of those participating locations to try at a later time, with the warm weather coming ordering take out to enjoy in your backyard is a great way to get outside and have some fun!
